We believe healthcare is a human right — not a privilege tied to status, papers or place of birth. FAST exists to make that right real for people on the move in Northern France, and to treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Where we come from
FAST started in 2015 as a group of friends providing first aid in the so-called ‘Jungle’ in Calais, treating more than fifty people a day from old caravans. The camp is gone, but the people never left — and neither did we. Today we are a registered Dutch association (ANBI) running a mobile clinic that goes to wherever people sleep, shelter and wait.
What drives us
Most of the conditions we treat — wounds, infections, trench foot, hypothermia — are preventable. They exist because people are forced to live outside, evicted every 48 hours, losing their tents, medication and belongings over and over. Where governments choose deterrence over care, we choose to show up. We treat what we can, refer what we can’t, and bear witness to what the border does to people’s health.
How we work
Entirely volunteer-led, from the board to the field. Independent of any religion or political party. Committed to care that respects people’s dignity, culture and choices — and to speaking out about what we see.
